Finding More Wel-Met People

Want to get more Wel-Met people on this forum? Put a Wel-Met bumper sticker on your car!

Stickers have "official" Wel-Met logo, and this website address. They are being printed now. I guarantee that some of us will find additional Wel-Met family right in our own home towns!

Cost of bumper stickers is $10.00 for the first sticker and $5.00 for each additional one shipped to the same address. (Get one for your SUV, one for your sports car, one for your kid's car. Or be even more creative: windows, luggage, briefcase...)

Price includes shipping and handling, etc. etc.

Respond here to tell me if you are interested and how many you will want. I'll get back to you with details.

Gail:

Were you at Silver Lake in 1975? If you were, our very nice lifeguard, Howie Silver, now lives down the road from you in Westport. He is the one who got me interested in this site.

Great idea. I'll take two, thanks. Was at a party today and met a woman whose brother went to W-M. We are all over!

Gail, terrific idea!

Gail, I would love to order 2 bumperstickers. Love this idea. Your old and new friend, Ruth (Hyman) Zachary. See you soon. Can't wait to put the stickers on my car.

I'll take two, thanks. Gail, I was a counselor in 72 Pioneers in Barryville with you. Great to see you at the reunion.

Oh count me in for two!! Roberta , I think you were my counselor somewhere in narrowsburg or on western trip. Linda Ross. Were you thinking of Rusty aka Diane and her friend cindy Kaplan (from the other thread?) we were all at narrowsburg from 71-74 as well as western trip, i think 74 or 75.

wierd places to find wel-met people

I just got back from my daughters day camp that she has been going to for 5 years and the camp always looked very familiar but I was never able to quite put my finger on it . So tonight I GOT INTO A CONVERSATION WITH THE OWNER OF THE CAMP AND SHE WAS TELLING ME HOW SHE MADE IT THOUGH LAST WEEK WITHOUT POWER , (WE HAD A VERY BAD STORM IN ROCKLAND COUNTY LAST WEEK AND HAD A LOT OF LONG TERM POWER OUTAGES ) SO I WENT ON TO TELL HER HOW WHEN I WENT TO CAMP WE HAD NO POWER . SHE WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT WHEN SHE WAS A CAMPER NOT ONLY DID SHE NOT HAVE POWER BUT SHE HAD TO WASH UP IN A COLD WATER TROUGH AND SLEEP IN TENTS ON PLATFORMS , FORGET ABOUT THE OUTHOUSE . Although she its about 70 years old I asked her if this camp was WEL-MET and she said yes Narrowsburg division. SO Now knowing this it explains the lake the red bunks and the high tec, if that is possible GA-GA court . Wel-met people can be found anywhere and in all walks of life. W

The shirt works!

Made the trip from home (Syracuse) to JFK and back yesterday to pick up my daughter from her URJ Israel trip. Of course I wore my Wel Met shirt.

I gave out the URL to three people that approached me saying, "I went to Wel Met!!" I asked one, which division? She said, "Great Barrington, uh I mean, Barrington, um Barryburgh...?" "Barryville?", I said. "Yes, that's it."

So get your shirts, everyone, and wear them proudly. I'm sure many more Wel Metters will be found this way.
