Ira,

Thanks for helping out.

Anyone who is interested in donating wine or beer or anything should let me know in advance (as soon as possible would be really helpful). That way we can purchase less when we go out to buy everything for the reunion.

Thanks again,

Marty Baicker

Sounds great - hope I am able to make it. Any arrangements, hotels, or ideas for out-of--towners who no longer have family in the NY metro area?

Out of Towners unite!

Yes, Roz, some kind of hotel block booking (or dare I say crash-pad) could possibly make this doable for those of us who haven't been in touch for much, much too long. Please count me in with any ideas for this kind of thing.

I have a hotel discount service that does serve NYC, among other places. It's at www.academicambassadors.com .

I've stayed away from tents with nearby outhouses and lean-tos, so the hotels aren't necessarily cheap. But, I've arranged deep discounts at some very smart boutique-y places.

Might be worth taking a look for this event (or other trips).

Adam

PS. This is a business (though not a big one!), but I will donate any proceeds back to the Wel-Met charity.

Hello

This is my first post here, and I wonder if anyone remembers me....Ken Appelbaum is the name. I am ttending the reunion, G-d willing, on June 30th, with my cousin, who was a 3 weeker at Silverlake from 68-70. Contact me if I can help out in any way....Ken.
BTW, I Have a few extra couches if anyone from out of town needs a place to stay....

Is Jane Applebaum your sister???? She and I were great friends on WT 3 in 1970. We lost touch and I have wondered over the years about her. If so, please let me know.

Hi to all, Yes, Jane Appelbaum is my sister, and she is living in Brooklyn with husband and child. If this is the Roz that i am thinking of, I actually was speaking with someone today about the Big Six Towers, and the only way I know of them is by visiting you there one time with Jane....coincidence or fate...I will tell Jane about this contact.

Question Reunion

It sounds like something I might be into, but I get the feeling that most everyone here is older than me and I probably wouldn't really know anyone and no one would know me. I was never a counselor - just a camper. The only person I've seen here in the member list I do (vaguely) remember is Spider. He was never my counselor, but I think he bunked with my counselor (who ever that was) in 76 or 77. I don't know why I remember him, but I doubt he'd remember me as I was never one of his campers.

Mike it's never too late to make a few new friends and what better place to find them at the Wel Met reunion? You can always stop by for a while and then decide if its happening or not.....

PS: Everyone remembers Spider for some reason.....

Thanks Doug. See you Saturday.

I also invited Howard Stern via e-mail a few weeks back but I can't be sure he ever received it.

Marty,
Wish I could be there, my thoughts are with all that are there. Sorry, but life has gotten in the way. Thanks for keeping the flame burning.
